It is my pleasure to serve as principal. As a lifelong resident of Opelika and a parent of two children who have graduated Opelika City Schools, I have full confidence in OCS to provide your child with the best in educational opportunities. We are pleased that your child is starting this journey at Jeter Primary.

Jeter's faculty and staff are committed to providing your child with a student-centered approach to instruction and learning. Jeter's instructional program lays foundational skills and builds in the areas of language arts, mathematics, social and natural sciences, health and safety, music, art, technology, character education, and physical education. Inquiry-based instruction and interdisciplinary activities are cornerstones of teaching at Jeter Primary where students engage in active, hands-on participation while making meaningful connections to the world around them.

At Jeter Primary where we educate every child, every day and we encourage you to become involved in your child's learning experience by volunteering your time in many school wide opportunities - including:

• the classroom
• media center
• listening to students read (or reading to students)
• assisting teachers, etc.

I also encourage you to join our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Parent Advisory Committee (PAC).
